My Built up shoe is 3" high the raise was an add on to an existing raise to an old pair of his shoes.
I suffered from a broken hip after being knocked off my bicycle while out shopping. My hip joint was broken at the ball joint and because of my heart condition corrective surgery was not possible. my original raise was just over an inch but as my  hip gradually degenerated over the years my leg got shorter and further raises were added to the sole.
I have also sent you  some pictures of my new boots which i have not yet worn.
